How long has the company been in business?

Homecare Solutions are a well established owner managed homecare provider based in the Kildare area who have been trading successfully since 2007. 80% of our business is referred to us through local healthcare providers, public health nurses, GP’s and from existing clients, family and friends. We are a member of The Professional Institute of Care Providers in Ireland and an approved HSE provider of non medical homecare.

How much does home care cost?

If you, your spouse or relative is incapacitated by reason of physical or mental infirmity and you employ a person to care for the incapacitated relative you may claim tax relief on home care costs. When combined with tax relief on Home Care the savings can be substantial making private home care an attractive and affordable alternative to long term residential care.

Tax relief is at the marginal rate of tax either 20% or 41%. In order to claim tax relief an IT 47 form must be completed and submitted to the Inspector of Taxes in the local area.

Homecare Solutions charge a rate per visit. Rates will vary depending on the clients needs. Live-in care is charged on a unit rate and not hourly. Tax relief can be claimed by clients at their top rate of tax, up to 41% of the cost of the care provided. A maximum of €50,000 can be claimed in any one Tax Year. Home care Grants can be applied for through your local health centre.

  • Monitoring diet.
  • Running errands.
  • Light housekeeping.
  • Companionship.
  • Taking clients to appointments.
  • Day trips.
  • Liasing with the client/family to assess ongoing care.

How do you select your carers?

We select only highly capable and compassionate Carers who are carefully selected and screened. All Carers undergo garda vetting and we check and verify employment history and work references. As their employer Homecare Solutions handle all the responsibilities of taxes, PRSI and insurance costs. We train our Carers in Manual Handling, Health and Safety training, CPR and First Aid. All our Carers carry Homecare Solutions Photo Identification cards during their working day.

How does our service work?

Following the initial enquiry one of our Care Managers will arrange a visit to discuss and identify the needs and requirements of the client and their family.

A personalised careplan is developed which forms the template for care and continuous assessment which is fundamental to Homecare Solutions service.

We take the time to listen and understand individual requirements and skillfully match our Personal Carers to the specific needs and personalities of our clients. A Carer is then carefully matched and introduced to the client and their specific needs. Client reviews and Carer spot checks will be carried out on an ongoing basis to make sure that the client and family are satisfied with the level of care being provided.

The careplan is reviewed at regular intervals to ensure the clients needs have not changed. At all times the client has direct access to our Care Managers who regularly meet with the Client and family to discuss future care requirements.
