When I was eventually allowed home following almost two years in the hospital due to the effects of "Guillain Barre Syndrome",- I was in a terrible physical condition, unable to do most daily activities. He has helped and encouraged me in all aspects of my ongoing recovery. Homecare Solutions provided my father with private non-medical home care and also HSE-sponsored Home Care Package hours since September 2013. Even though my father was 91, he was still a very independent man up until close to his death and had many interests and friends and loved going on outings. Therefore, the prospect of going to a nursing home for his final years was not an option for him and would have had a detrimental effect on his mental health. I contacted Homecare Solutions after reading the excellent endorsements on their website from people that would have been known to my family and me. From the moment that I first spoke to Vivienne Mahon in Homecare Solutions, I immediately felt reassured that I could count on a wealth of support and experience in the challenging months ahead. Vivienne became more than just a homecare manager, but a trusted partner and friend with whom my family and I could share all our worries and difficulties within the care of our father. Each member of the Homecare Solutions team was exceptional. They not only cared for dad, but became part of the family, and invoked an atmosphere of kindness, love and of fun in his home, and he loved them all. In addition, Vivienne was always on hand to advise, help out, or just listen to any concerns that we may have had. Records and logs were meticulously kept, and the carers coped amazingly with the endless changes of medications and the increasing personal care requirements that dad needed as the months passed.
